Isabella M. DiCarlo, a long-time Medford resident, died Saturday evening at home after a brief illness. She was 96. Born and raised in East Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Filomena (Simone) DeMango. Isabella was a Medford resident for well over 70 years. She worked as a stitcher throughout her life and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed a long and happy marriage to her husband Rocco, a decorated World War II veteran who passed away a year ago. Isabella was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to spend her time with her family and friends.
The beloved wife of the late Rocco J. DiCarlo, Isabella was a devoted mother to Amelia Prestigiovanni and her husband John of Medford, Patricia LoConte and her husband Carl of Stoneham. She was a loving grandmother to John J. Prestigiovanni and his wife Amy, Theresa Shano and her husband John, Anthony Prestigiovanni and his wife Emily, Carl LoConte III and his partner Joe Zichi, Jenna Raistrick and her husband Chris. She was a loving great-grandmother of Jeremy, Zachary, Jillian Prestigiovanni and Jared Shano. Isabella was also the dear sister of the late Rose Ciampaglia and Sergio DeMango.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday, February 27th, from 9 through 11 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 11:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
