FALL RIVER… Timothy J. Kelly, Jr., 86, of Fall River passed away February 24, 2019 at St. Anne’s Hospital.
He was the husband of Virginia (Gryncewicz) Kelly to whom he had been married for 61 years.
Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Timothy J., Sr. and Catherine (Lowney) Kelly.
A veteran of the United States Navy, he served his country during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Kelly had worked for many years as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Fall River Jewish Home for the Aged and as a Funeral Attendant for Boyko Memorial Funeral Home. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Church, Fall River where he took part in their Council of St. Vincent DePaul Society, their Men’s Club, the Krakowiak Dancers and was involved with the St. Stanislaus Festival for many years. He was a member of the VFW Post 5342 in Tiverton, the Boy Scouts of America, Circus Model Builders # 4342, the Over the Hill Gang, the Moxie Congress, the Catholic Committee on Scouting and the Newport Polar Bear Club. He had received the Marian Medal from Bishop Cronin. He enjoyed tent camping and the beach.
Along with his wife, survivors include his daughter: Carol A. Slaiding and her husband Cliff of Assonet; his sons: Michael P. Kelly and his wife Donna of Swansea and Timothy J. Kelly, III of Fall River; his sister: Sheila Grinvalski of CT; 4 grandchildren: Ruth-Ann Kelly, Eric Kelly, John Kelly and William Kelly; several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Delores Boucher, Maureen McGuiness and Paul Kelly.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Friday at 9 AM from the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway Fall River, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. Stanislaus Church, Rockland St. Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 PM to 7 PM.
