Emilio N. "Milio" DiMambro, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away peacefully with family by his side on February 21, 2019. He was an honorable Veteran of The Korean War where he received a Bronze Star for his heroism during his service. He recently received an honorable reward by the Korean government for his service.
His passion was country music and he was well known for creating the band Country Fever. A highlight of his life was when he was inducted into the Massachusetts Country Music Hall of Fame. He shared this passion with his late son, John DiMambro. He had a love for horse racing and worked at the race track caring for the horses in his younger days. He was a dedicated employee of the City of Woburn for much of his life. Lovingly married for 57 years to his late wife, Elizabeth (McHardy) DiMambro, he is now home with her and his son in heaven.
Milio is survived by his daughter, Beth Geary and her husband Bob of Woburn. He has five grandchildren; John DiMambro and his wife Colleen of Billerica, Jennifer DiMambro of Connecticut, Michelle Delaney and her husband Jon of Woburn, Tracy Henry and her husband Tom of Woburn, and Matthew Geary of Woburn. He also leaves behind five great grandchildren; Nicole, Anthony, Skyler, Brooklyn and Mason. He is further survived by his brother Louis DiMambro of Woburn. Siblings Bernard DiMambro, Ralph DiMambro, Angelo DiMambro, Frank DiMambro, Edward DiMambro, and Anne Russis all preceded him in death.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Thursday, February 28th, starting at 9 a.m. with a prayer service following at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with Military Honors and burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
