Mary I. "May" (Silva) Andrade, 93, of New Bedford died February 23, 2019 peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late William C. Andrade.
Born in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Ceatano and Antonia (dos Reis) Silva, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Andrade was formerly employed as a radiological technologist at St. Luke's Hospital for many years before retiring as Chief Technologist of the Radiology Department.
She enjoyed taking x-ray photos of flowers to create artwork, travel, photography, dancing and going to the Y.M.C.A. She had a good sense of humor and will be missed.
Survivors include her nephew, Manuel Roderiques and his wife Janice of New Bedford; her sister-in-law, Dr. Omega Silva of Washington, DC; her niece and Godchild, Frances Cecile Silva; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Anthony Silva, C. Francis Anthony Silva and Isabel Silva.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.
