Navy Veteran, WWII. Of Dedham, died February, 23, 2019 surrounded by his family at the age of 91.
Beloved husband of the late Mary A. (McGarty) Smith. Devoted father of Edward H Smith and his wife Michaela of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Jeanne M Flint and her husband Mark of Hull, Joan F Colleran and her husband Francis of Walpole, Jonathan J Smith and his wife Lisa of N. Reading, Elizabeth S Cramer and her husband Stephen of Stoughton and Jennifer S Wilcox and her husband Brendan of Dedham and the late Nancy S Bradley and her surviving husband Peter of Norwood.
Cherished brother of the late Lillian Berry, Elizabeth Frei, Mary Smith, Joseph Smith and Rita Smith. Loving grandfather of Alexander, Andrew and Benjamin Bradley, Adam Reid, Nicole Reid Van Buren, Daniel Colleran, Melissa Colleran Winters, Nathanial and Christina Smith, Jeffrey and Emily Cramer, Kirstin and Matthew Wilcox and the late Timothy Cramer. Also survived by great-grandchildren Wendy, Harry, Serafina, Levi and Eila Bradley, Stella Van Buren, Jacob Winters & James Colleran. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Edward was a graduate of Northeastern University and worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Works for 45 years.
Visiting hours at the George F. Doherty & Sons, Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home 456 High St. DEDHAM on Tuesday, February 26th from 4-8pm. A Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, February 27th at 1pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
