Randy Leeon Barnwell, Sr., 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, February 21, 2019, at his residence.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Barnwell was born March 21, 1954, in Tifton, Georgia to the late Ellis Clay & Ruth Vernell Branch Barnwell. His childhood and most of his adult life were spent in the Hialeah and Miami Springs areas in South Florida. Along with most of his older brothers, Randy was a successful stock car driver and later built his career around cars in the automobile service industry. Mr. Barnwell loved spending time with all of his family and watching NASCAR.
He is survived by his daughter; Melyssa Evans of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren: Mako Jeffrey Evans and Monica Coral Evans; brothers: Teddy Barnwell & Carole of Pembroke Springs, Florida, Tom Barnwell of Fitzgerald, Billy Barnwell & Juanita of Titusville, Florida and Bobby Barnwell & Sandy of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randy Leeon Barnwell, Jr., a brother, Ellis Donald “Buzzy” Barnwell and his two sisters: Dorothy Zino and Mary Edith White.
