Obituary

Maurice Bryan "Mo" "Reesie" Slaughter, 51, of Fall River, formerly of New Bedford died December 28, 2005 at Hope House after a brief illness.
Born in Bourne, the son of Editha "Lydia" (Pina) Barnes of New Bedford and the late Frank B. Slaughter II and stepson of the late Milton Barnes, he had lived with his parents on military bases before moving to the New Bedford area in 1972. He was a graduate of Lakenheath American High School in Lakenheath, England, and attended Fisher Junior College, Bristol Community College, Northeastern University and Newbury Junior College.
He was a member of Grace Gospel Church in Swansea.
Mr. Slaughter worked for many years as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at the Bristol County House of Corrections in Dartmouth and at North Cottage Halfway House in Attleboro.
He was a faithful member of Narcotics Anonymous and was a founding member of "Boys to Men".
Survivors include his mother; his beloved soulmate, Victoria Estes of Fall River; 3 sons, Darrien Slaughter, Aaron Slaughter and Drew Pimentel, all of New Bedford; a brother, Frank B. Slaughter III of Henderson, Nev.; 2 sisters, Emmy Lopes of New Bedford and Melissa Swingler of Carteret, NJ; a grandson, Devynn Slaughter of Seekonk; and a host of family members and friends.
He was the brother of the late Robert B. Slaughter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Friday, December 30th at 10 AM.
Visiting hours Thursday, December 29th from 4-9 PM.
Interment Rural Cemetery.
