Mark Joseph Evans, age 47, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, in Thousand Oaks, California.
Mark is survived by his wife Cindy Evans, children Ryan and Ella, step-father Allan Ferrenberg, siblings Todd Evans, Karlyn Evans and Jane (Evans) Kennedy, niece Cassidy Kennedy, nephews Conner Kennedy, Jake Evans and Shane Evans, uncle Ken Evans and cousin Kenny Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents Jennie (Nutt) Ferrenberg and John Evans, maternal grandparents, Cora Lee (Connor), Lu (step) and Joe Nutt, and paternal grandparents Henrietta “Hank” (Schweizer) and Roy Evans.
Born on December 27, 1971 in Shreveport, Louisiana, Mark and his family moved to California in 1977. He later attended Canoga Park High School and then graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies. He worked in the financial services and banking industry for more than 20 years.
Mark was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He enjoyed family vacations, time at the beach, sporting events and when time permitted, hanging out with friends. Although he never fully mastered shuffling a deck of cards, he could fire off movie quotes like it was nobody’s business.
If you knew Mark, you loved him. He was smart, kind, loyal and his sense of humor was second to none. Whenever around him, you’d leave with a smile on your face and your sides hurting from laughter. The world is a bit dimmer without his shine. RIP Mark E. Baby.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, One Church Rd, Thousand Oaks, CA, 91362.
