Edilia Mendes Resende (64) of Brockton died February 19th in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Mosteiros, Fogo, Cabo Verde the daughter of the late Francisco Resende and Maria Mendes Gomes of Brockton. Edilia was a communicant of St. Edith Stein Church and loved music.
In addition to her mother she is survived by her son Eugenio Andrade of Cape Verde, 3 daughters, Sandra A. Resende of Brockton, Carla Andrade and Claudia Resende both of Cape Verde, 10 grandchildren, 4 brothers, Luis, Domingos, Filipe and Celestrino Resende all of Brockton, 4 sisters, Joaquina, Fatima, Ruth Resende all of Brockton and Maria Resende of Fall River, (also mother of the late Francisca Resende), many nieces and nephews.
Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Monday February 25th at 9 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church 71 E Main Street Brockton at 10 am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Visitation in the Funeral Home Sunday February 24th from 5-9 pm.
