Mike “Mr. O” Owens, 45, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, December 26, 2005, at the Medical Center Of Central Georgia, Macon, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Bobby Atkinson and Eddie Smith speaking. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 Wednesday evening.
Mr. Owens was born May 8, 1960, in Irwin County, Georgia, to Willie Luke Owens Holt and the late J.S. “Buddy” Owens, Jr. He lived in the community most of his life. Mr. Owens was formerly associated with Owens Paving Company and Hunter Motors. He was currently night supervisor at Modern Dispersions, Inc. He was a member of Moose International and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Owens is survived by his wife: Amy Hunter Owens of Fitzgerald; son: Michael Walter “Lil O” Owens of Fitzgerald; mother: Willie Luke Owens Holt of Fitzgerald; sister: Debbie “D.R.” Roberts of Fitzgerald; nieces and nephews: Carla Michelle Roberts, Tim Burch and Brian Jason Owens; four great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son and a sister.
