CHICOPEE ~ Janet D. (Normand) Goudreau, 92, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, February 18, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on October 9, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Louis J. and Zeleda (Guinard) Normand and lived in Aldenville since 1957. She was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Aldenville. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger J. Goudreau who was Called Home on January 11, 1991; her loving brother, Paul Normand; and her cherished nephew, Brian Giguere. She leaves her loving sister and brother-in-law, Eileen L. Barnes and her husband, Thomas, of Chicopee; her dear nephews and nieces, Terry Giguere and his wife, Eleanor, Lisa Bombardier and her husband, Vincent, Thomas Barnes and his wife, Tammi, and Karrie Burnett and her husband, Glenn; and her many grandnephews and grandnieces. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, February 28, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
