Preston Harper passed away on February 12, 2019, at his residence in Colquitt County, Georgia.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at the Brushy Creek Cemetery, in Irwin County, with the Rev. Billy Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends at 12:30 PM until the funeral hour, Sunday, at the Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.
Preston was born in Tifton, Georgia, on September 19, 1971, to Ellen Bishop Thurman and Larry Preston Harper, Sr. He was preceded in death by both grandparents. Preston was followed in death on February 14, 2019, by his father, Larry Preston Harper, Sr. of Ocilla, Georgia.
Preston attended Woodlake Elementary in Carrollton, Texas, from first grade through sixth grade, then moved to Ocilla, Georgia to be with his father, where he graduated from Irwin County High School in 1989.
He met Teresa Courtoy in Moultrie, Georgia, and together they welcomed a son, Tyler Preston Harper.
Preston worked in the heating and air conditioning industry for over 20 years, until his death.
Preston is survived by his son, Tyler Preston Harper, of Ocilla, Georgia, mother, Ellen Bishop Thurman, of Lewisville, Texas, step-mother Deena Harper of Ocilla, Georgia, brothers Phillip Harper and his wife Julie of Ft. Worth, Texas, John William Roberts of Dallas, Texas, Marcus Harper of Savannah, Georgia, sister Anne Roberts Hill and her husband Brent of Plano, Texas, Blaire Benson of Tifton, and Anna Griffin and her husband Josh of Irwinville and numerous aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.
