Laverne Fletcher Spears Bennett, 70, of Lenox, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Mrs. Bennett will be laid to rest at Salem Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 17, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mark Alan Johnson, Cole Johnson, D. J. Harnage, Joe Harnage, Kevin Harnage, Kyle Harnage, Jacob Potts, Chase White and Charles Harper will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 6, 1948 in Nashville, Mrs. Bennett was the daughter of the late J. T. Fletcher and Maggie Tucker Fletcher. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Eugene Spears; her second husband, Daulton Travis Bennett; one sister, Mary Fletcher; and one brother, Ernest Fletcher. She had an Associate Degree in Childhood Education and was a caregiver and a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Berrien County.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by three daughters, Liz Tawzer and Steve Brady of Nashville, Becky Spears of Tifton and Donna and Mark Johnson of Hahira; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Carolyn Fletcher of Lenox; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Sutton, Jennifer Harnage and Sue and Roger Walker, all of Lenox; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Danielle and Miranda Ulm, Mary Tawzer and her fiance’ Jacob Potts, Madalyn Milliones and Mark Alan and Cole Johnson; and her great-granddaughter, Charleigh Tawzer.
