Joan M. (Wheeler) Lamarre Hilt, 77, of Colebrook, passed away at the St. Vincent de Paul Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Berlin after a period of declining health. She was born in Berlin, NH on September 4, 1941 the daughter of the late Albert and Mildred (Murphy) Wheeler. Joan was raised and educated in Berlin and has resided in Colebrook for the past several years. She and her former husband operated Northeast Diamond and Drilling Co. Joan loved antiques and for several years operated an antique shop in Maine called Murphy’s Closet.
Members of the family include her children, Bess Mahoney of Bethel, ME, Brian Lamarre of Gorham, Barry Lamarre of Mexico, ME, Bonnie Lamarre of Berlin and Bruce Lamarre of Maine. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Mildred, a son Master Sargent Bradley Lamarre and siblings Albert Wheeler, Jr., Monica Wheeler, Donald “Chickie” Wheeler and Maurice Wheeler.
Memorial Visitation will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Monday, February 18, 2019 from 2-4pm with a prayer service beginning at 4pm.
