John B. Ramos, Jr., 75, of New Bedford passed away Sunday February 3, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late John B. and Christina (Souza) Ramos, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
John was formerly employed as an inspector at Chamberlain Manufacturing. He had also worked as a certified nursing assistant at Hallmark Nursing Home and New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital.
During the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army.
He enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to music.
He is survived by his siblings, Linda Ramos Gomes of New Bedford, Sylvia Ramos Barros and her husband Randall, Sr. of Fairhaven, Richard Ramos of New Bedford, and Thomas Ramos and his wife Brenda of Tiverton, RI; his special Godson, Randall Barros, Jr.; his other Godchildren, Michael, Ramon, Cassia, Dean, and Ebony; his close friends, Cindy and Sue; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Timothy and David Ramos.
His Memorial Service will be held on Monday Feb. 11, 2019 at 12 Noon at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with visitation prior from 10 AM – 12 Noon.
