Zoila Rosa Giraud Fernandez, 91, of Jamaica Plain Ma., passed away on Jan 30 2019. Born in Tapachula Chiapas, Mexico. Daughter of Ruben Fernandez , of Honduras and Mercedes Espinoza, of Guatemala. She was a Nutritionist and later a Home Health Aide. She emigrated to America in the early 60's chasing the American Dream. One of her proudest moments was the day she became a U.S. citizen. She gave back by teaching healthy eating courses to parents and art classes to children at the local hispanic community center and also was involved in the realization of an urban garden on the street where she raised her family. She loved music and traveling but was most at peace when by the oceanside, where she "recharged her batteries" as she would always say. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of adventure, her fearless nature and fun loving spirit. She was predeceased by her son Oscar Giraud Jr, grandson Vaughn Bradley, brother Joaquin Fernandez, sisters Lila Waters and Cruzita Reyes and former husband Oscar Giraud Sr. She is survived by her children, Jeannette Giraud, Miriam Rodrigues and husband John of New Bedford, Ma, Omar Giraud and wife Joanna of Beverly Ma, Ingrid Giraud and partner Annie Bulman of Jamaica Plain, Irene McGill and her husband Craig, of Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Grandchildren, Jason and Matthew Hanlon, Adrianne Zink, Ryan, Jared, Devin, Zane and Quinn Giraud, Omar and Shaie Davis, Giavanna and Gabriella Rodrigues, Cicely Carew, Adam King, Monica and Asia as well as 17 great grandchildren. Siblings, Vicente Fernandez Mejia, Aida Fernandez, Chavela Espinoza, Alicia Simmons, Ricardo Reyes and many cousins, nieces and nephews in Honduras, C.A. and the U.S., by all of whom she will be dearly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
