Eugene “Gene” Beard, 56, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, February 1, 2019 at his residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Greg Carroll officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Gene was born June 8, 1962, in Tifton, Georgia, to Melba Nell Peacock Chambers and the late Royce Monroe Beard. He was a lifelong resident of Ben Hill County. Mr. Beard was a mechanic and enjoyed fixing any kind of machinery. He loved music and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Melba Peacock Chambers of Fitzgerald; two brothers: Raymond “Ray” Beard & Rondisu of Fitzgerald and Clifford Chambers, Jr. of Fitzgerald; a sister, Lisa Carroll & Greg of Hayesville, North Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.
