Betty Jean Swails Goode, 81, of Enigma passed away Friday, February 1, 2019, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Michael Bennett officiating. Mrs. Goode will be laid to rest at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Enigma. The family will receive friends at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals on Monday, February 4, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Corrie Flanders, Cade Flanders, Wayne Aultman, Anthony Aultman, Randy Swails and Matt Hinson will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 18, 1937 in Enigma, Mrs. Goode was the daughter of the late John Benjamin Swails and Lovie Susan Luke Swails. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Goode; one son, Benny James Goode; one grandson, Thomas Kyle Flanders; five brothers, Albert Swails, J. W. Swails, Alonzo Swails, Bennie Lee Swails and L. J. Swails; and seven sisters, Geneva Hall, Clara Aultman, Jewel Nelms, Lougene Cooper, Audrey McCurdy, Imogene Swails and Gertrude Swails. Before retiring, she was employed with Forstman and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Goode is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Tommy Flanders of Enigma; two grandchildren and their spouses, Corrie and Amber Flanders and Cara and Perry Mullis, all of Enigma; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas Cade Flanders, Grace Elizabeth Flanders and Weslyn Paige Mullis, all of Enigma.
