LEICESTER: Norman F. Hutchins, Jr., 71, of Parker Street in the Rochdale section of Leicester, died Thursday, Jan. 31 in his home surrounded by his family.
He leaves his wife of 48 years; Mary Lou (Hanlan) Hutchins, two sons; Matthew J. Hutchins, Sr. and his wife Kimberly of Oxford and Mark A. Hutchins and Jennifer Lillis of Jamaica Plain, a daughter; Maureen M. Darmanin and her husband Jeffrey of Princeton, seven grandchildren; Annikah, Olivia, Matthew Jr., Amelia, Nathan, Megan & Jacob, a great grandson Connor, many nieces and nephews.
Norman was born in Worcester, son of Norman F. and Gloria S. (Speakman) Hutchins, Sr. and later graduated from Boys Trade School in Worcester. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1969. He was a mechanical operations manager at W.P.I. in the facilities office for many years before retiring. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, Worcester. A lifelong learner, he was an accomplished craftsmen and enjoyed bowling, reading, music, and gardening. He loved spending time with family fishing, camping, and summer vacations in Maine.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 6 at Noon in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
