Westborough – Gerard J. Richard, 96, of Westborough, died on Wednesday, January 30th in the Lutheran Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Richard was born in Mexico, Maine son of the late Camille and Leonie (Thibodeau) Richard. He was married to the late Mitzi (Vaugh) Richard and he was one of 14 children. Gerard is predeceased by two brothers, Rene and Albert Richard and 5 sisters, Edna Richard, Rose Bourgea, Rita Peters, Evelyn Cormier and Lillian Richard.
He is survived by his three brothers, Normand Richard of Dudley, Joseph Richard of Leicester and Ernest Richard of Worcester; three sisters, Irene Menard of West Boylston, Mildred Carbonneau of Worcester and Theresa Carbonneau of Worcester; a close friend David Brodeur of Worcester and many nephews and nieces.
Gerard worked for many years in the finance industry as an accountant both personally and for American Optical located in Southbridge. Mr. Richard attained his master’s degree from Clark University and was a longtime devoted member of Saint Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough.
A memorial mass to celebrate the life of Gerard will be held on Thursday, February 21 at 10:30 AM in Saint Luke the Evangelist Church 70 West Main Street Westborough. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street Worcester is assisting the family arrangements.
