Kenneth L. McCarron, Sr., 79, of Derry, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry after a brief illness. He was born August 23, 1939 in Quincy, MA and was a son of the late Louis and Gertrude (Hennebury) McCarron. He was raised and educated in the Squantum neighborhood of Quincy. Kenneth lived for many years in North Quincy, prior to relocating to Derry in 1976.
Mr. McCarron was employed for 30 years as a boiler maker with Local 29, Boilermakers Union of Boston. He was a member of the South Shore Neptunes Dive Club of Quincy. He enjoyed camping, hunting and bowling, and loved to travel with his wife and family.
Members of the family include, one daughter, Ann Marie McCoole of Derry, one son Kenneth L. McCarron, Jr. and his wife Charlene of Deerfield, NH, five grandchildren, Christopher, Ryleigh and Casey McCoole, Allyson and Gillian McCarron, one great granddaughter, Stella Stillman, a brother, George McCarron, of Marshfield, MA, two sisters, Janice Myers of Lancaster, CA and Ann-Marie Pytlinski and her husband Anthony of Grand Junction, CO, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Jeanette (O’Meara) in 2015.
After cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday February 6, 2019 at 10 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
