Funeral services for Nealon Murphy, age 63, of Ashburn will be held Tuesday at 2:00 P. M., Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the Christian Union Church of God with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn. Mr. Murphy died Sunday at Phoebe Putney Hospital following an extended illness.
Mr. Murphy was born in Worth County, Georgia and had resided in Crisp County most of his life. He was the son on the late Lewis M. and Daisy Mae Guy Murphy.
He was a retired restaurant manager and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Christian Union Church of God.
He is survived by one son, J.B. Murphy, Ashburn, Ga., three daughters, Mandy Stephens, Madison, Ga., Cathy Hall, Green Cove Springs, Florida, and Stacy Foster of Cordele, Ga. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also surviving are two brothers, Lewis Murphy and Ellison Murphy both of Sycamore, Ga. and one sister, Sarah Clements, Rochelle, Ga.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
