Luigi "Louis" Metafora, age 94, died peacefully on Tuesday June 25, 2002 at the Jesmond Nursing Home in Nahant following a brief illness.
He was born in Naples, Italy on February 15, 1908 to the late Salvatore and Anna (Maglio) Metafora. He has been a resident of Nahant for over 20 years, formerly of Newton.
Louis was self-employed as an importer of food for over 50 years.
He is the beloved husband of the late Aida (Lucariello) Metafora. Devoted father of Robert and his wife Donna Metafora of Dover and Richard Metafora of Leominster. Cherished grandfather of Christopher R. and Jessica N. Metafora, both of Dover. Louis was the last survivor of his siblings, Maria, Vincenzo, Silvia, Bice, Assunta, and Victorio.
Funeral from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday at 8:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Raphaels Parish, 514 High Street, West Medford, at 9:00 AM Visiting hours Thursday from 3 to 8 PM. Interment, Oak Grove Cemetery.
