Patricia Ann (Pat) DePoy, 87, of Londonderry, NH, passed away peacefully at her home in the early morning of January 26, 2019. She was born in Green Township, Indiana on March 28, 1931 and was one of three children of Honor and Blanche (Beech) Wilson. Pat grew up and attended school in Bryant, IN. She met her husband of 67 years, Martin L. (Bud) DePoy, II at a local Rural Youth meeting. Bud followed the “ladies first” rule while Pat lagged behind the others to be the “last” lady in, in order to meet Bud. She stole his heart and the two were inseparable until her death.
After marriage, Pat and Bud lived in Indiana, Naples, Italy (while Bud was stationed during the Korean War), Huntsville, AL, Ontario, Canada and Milford, NH, where they raised their four children. They later moved to Cleveland, NY for many years where they were very active in Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clay, NY, before returning to NH in the fall of 2017.
Pat had a successful, respected career in insurance, working for many years with the Holt Insurance Agency in Milford. In life she enjoyed cooking, gardening, genealogy, playing and teaching Bridge and their dog Leon.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, sisters Madonna (Donnie) Overmyer, and Kathleen (Kate) and daughter Marjorie (Marge) Trombly. She leaves behind her husband Bud, daughter Cynthia Caswell (Cindy) of New Boston, NH; son Martin (Marty) and his wife Sandra (Sam) of Washington DC, and son Samuel (Sam) and his wife Dana, of Newport Beach, CA. In addition, she leaves behind four grandsons, Nicholas Caswell, Jonathan DePoy, Andrew DePoy and Mason DePoy.
Pat will long be remembered as a devoted wife, a mother who loved and cared for her children deeply and for her quick laugh and sweet smile.
At the request of the family, services were held privately. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Greater Derry Humane Society (www.derryhumanesociety.com).
