Obituary

FALL RIVER - Manuel “Murry” Moreira Jr., 84, of 111 Borden East., Fall River, died Saturday at the Kimwell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Husband of Matilda “Tillie” (Costa) Moreira. Besides his Wife of Fall River, he is survived by: 3 Daughters: Cecelia Affonso of Fall River, Irene Ann Dube of Somerset, and Sheila Smith of Assonet, 5 Sisters: Mary Golden of Fall River, Genevieve Marcilino of Assonet, Eva Miranda of Fall River, Margaret Goodall of Miami, FL, and Irene Thigpen of GA, 7 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews. He was the brother of the late Louise L’Heroux and Joseph Moreira & Great Grandfather of the late Steven Botelho Jr.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Manuel Moreira & the late Anna (Duarte) Moreira. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River. He was a retired shipper/receiver at Darwood Manufacturing & was the former Treasurer of the Good Fellowship Club of Fall River. He was a member of the VFW in Tiverton and the Tiverton Knights of Columbus. He was a WWII US Army veteran. He was a parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Wednesday at 10 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Cathedral at 11 A.M. Internment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours Tuesday 4-8 P.M.
