Sandra McCarthy, 49, of Auburn lost her brief but courageous battle with cancer on Monday, January 21st. Sandy was born in Worcester and is survived by her beloved husband, Richard F. McCarthy; her cherished children, Olivia and Kyle Hamparsoomian; her mother, Gale (Courtney) Cullinan and stepfather, Roy of Rochdale; a brother, David Laliberte and his wife Dawn of Palm Bay, Florida; a sister, Nicole Laliberte of Barre; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Sandy was predeceased by her father, Alfred Laliberte.
Sandy retired in 2016 from Automatic Rolls after a total of 17 years of service and also operated her own daycare for 10 years.
In her retirement she enjoyed part-time living in Florida; exploring beaches from Key West to Maine. She mostly would be found in her backyard gardening, sunbathing & swimming.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, January 30th from 5:30 until 7:30 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. A celebration of life will be held on her birthday, Sunday, March 3rd from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, at the American Legion, 88 Bancroft Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
