Lucienne Lydia Rossignol, 89, of West Newfield, Maine and formerly of Berlin, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at her daughter and son-in-law’s home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Berlin on December 2, 1929, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Laurette (Robichaud) Gagne. Lucienne lived in Berlin the majority of her life. A hard worker and wonderful homemaker, she worked at St. Louis Hospital in the early 1970’s, and then moved to the new Androscoggin Valley Hospital where she worked in the housekeeping department until her retirement in the late 1990’s.
Lucienne loved spending time with her family. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and especially enjoyed going to Lake Umbagog with her husband Albert in their boat. They would fish for pickerel with which she would make into a delicious chowder. Lucienne and Albert traveled to Hawaii on a vacation they had long planned, and enjoyed all the time they spent there. She enjoyed picking berries and baking for her family. She also enjoyed staying with her daughter and going to visit Old Orchard Beach with her. She loved playing games (especially BINGO) and would often pick up her sister and friends and go out shopping. Lucienne was a joyful person, fun to be with and made friends wherever she went. She made many new friends when she moved to Maine to be with her daughter. She was a bit of a prankster too, and enjoyed playing tricks on people, just to make everyone laugh and have fun.
Members of her family include her daughter Stella Kohout and husband Frank of West Newfield, Maine, son Dennis Rossignol and wife Lynn of Milan, NH, and son Leo Rossignol and wife Jacqueline of Sanford, Maine; 5 Grandchildren Daniel, Denise, Michelle, Darryl and Lewis; 7 Great Grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Albert Rossignol, two sisters and two brothers.
A Memorial Service will be held at Bryant Funeral Home, Berlin on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 10 AM. Interment will be in the St. Kieran Cemetery, Berlin. Arrangements are entrusted to the Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham, NH.
