Barre - Vite S. Thompson, 91, of Barre a tool maker by trade died Friday, January 18, at home peacefully
He leaves a daughter, Marie Latina; a son, James with whom he lived with; a sister Albina Lavoie of Florida. Vite was born in Charlton, son of Anthony and Anna Thompson. He had two brothers who predeceased him Charles and Tony.
Vite`s wife Marie passed away in 2001, married for 49 years Mr. Thompson took care of Marie, carrying her down flights of stairs to her doctor’s appointment before she passed.
Vite who was a World War II Navy veteran worked and retired from Metso – formerly Jamesbury Corporation of Worcester.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Thompson was also an accomplished oil painter both portraits and wildlife.
He’d like to thank Knollwood Rehabilitation and the VNA for all their help and kindness. There are no calling hours. A memorial mass will be scheduled at a later date. Just one more thing. All you sportsman out there, catch a few for Vite. He’d like that.
