Tommy Wayne Harper, Jr., 47, of Wilcox County, Georgia, died Thursday, January 24, 2019, at his residence, following an extended illness.
Graveside services will be held 3 PM, Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Elder Jerry Waldron officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, from 1 PM until 3 PM, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Harper was born May 17, 1971, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to Glenda Jewell Harper and the late Tommy Wayne Harper. He lived in the community all of his life and was a contractor. Mr. Harper enjoyed fishing, riding dirt roads, yard work and woodwork. He had a great sense of humor. Mr. Harper was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He is survived by his mother, Glenda Jewell Harper of Ocilla, special parents that helped raise him: Terry & Peggy Harper of Rebecca; siblings: Angie Bishop & Craig of Fitzgerald, Tonya Wiggins & Robert of Rochelle, Candee Mitchell & Gene of Irwinville, Richie Harper of Fitzgerald, Donna Varnedore & David of Fitzgerald, Terra Harper of Fitzgerald and Penny Corneal & Ray of Tifton and many nieces and nephews. His beloved dogs: Lucy, Bucky, Ned and Nellie also survive.
