Rosemarie Rita (Hankard) Paradis, 92, of Nashua, NH passed away peacefully on December 4, 2018. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, Leo, in 2013. She leaves behind four children - Patricia (Paradis) Miceli and her husband Michael of Nashua; Joseph Paradis and his wife Joanne of Londonderry, NH; Paul Paradis of Quincy, MA (whose beloved wife Corinne passed in 2014), and Denise (Paradis) Blackburn and her husband Michael of Western Springs, IL. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Rosemarie was born in Boston, MA on February 26, 1926, the daughter of Albert and Rita Hankard, and raised primarily in Somerville, MA. Predeceased by her younger sister Jean Flynn in 1978, she is survived by her older brother Albert Hankard and his wife Madeline of Dover, NH. A 1946 graduate of Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene in Boston, she met her future husband Leo while working as a dental hygienist. They married in 1952.
Rosemarie became a homemaker and dedicated herself to raising her four children. She was a wonderful mother-always there to listen, advise and comfort. She was an avid walker and loved dancing and traveling the globe with her husband. Passionate about the latest fashion, coupled with her love of jewelry, she was always known as an impeccable dresser. She left her family humorous memories that will live on forever in their hearts.
She lived the last 15 years of her life at The Huntington in Nashua with her husband until he passed. She was well loved and cared for by the staff of The Huntington where she was known for her owl collection which decorated her room.
The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry assisted the family. A graveside service and burial will take place in the spring at the Paradis family plot in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Medford St., Arlington, MA. Donations in Rosemarie’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Epilepsy Foundation, or a charity of your choice.
