...Plasterer, USMC Vietnam Veteran; 53
TEWKSBURY - David J. Santos, age 53, a Vietnam War veteran, died Monday, Dec. 26, at the
Boston Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Lowell, on August 28, 1952, a son of the late Edward F. and Florence (Souza)
Santos. He lived in Tewksbury throughout his life, and attended Tewksbury schools.
He enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps, in 1969, and served in Vietnam. He was a member of the
Tewksbury D.A.V. Post 110, and the Tewksbury V.F.W. Post 8164.
Upon discharge from the Marines, he worked for the US Postal Service at the Woburn Service
Center, and Raytheon’s, South Lowell plant, but changed careers to be come a plasterer in the
greater Lowell area home construction trade.
Mr. Santos was a lifelong member of St. William’s Parish community.
He was fondly described by his family as having possessed a keen sense of humor that bought
laughter and smiles to everyone he met.
He is survived by two brothers, Daniel Santos of Westboro, and John J. Santos of Tewksbury, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Santos of Lowell, a
brother-in-law, William Sheridan of Tewksbury, one niece, April Sheridan; two nephews, William
Sheridan Jr., and Edward J. Santos Jr.; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was also brother of the late Edward J. Santos and Mary Donna Sheridan.

His Funeral Mass was held Thursday, December 29, in St. William’s Church, Tewksbury. Interment was in
St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Lowell. Memorials to the Boston Medical Center, 1 Boston Medical Pl.,
Boston, MA 02118 will be appreciated.
