JOSEPH W. RAYMOND JR, 70, died Tuesday at his home. He leaves his children, Rebecca J. Raymond of Clarkston, GA and Anthony Raymond and his wife Gabrielle of North Providence. Grandfather of Parker A. Raymond and Knox A. Raymond. Brother of Patricia Raymond and his wife Pamela (Calise) Raymond.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Joseph William Sr. and F. Elaine (Carlson) Raymond. He had lived in North Providence for over thirty years, having moved from Glocester to make his home there. Joseph had worked for Raymond and Higgins Trucking, Russo Trucking in Providence, as bartender at Club 44, and waiter ar Casa Christine's. He also worked for Olympic Compactor. He loved everything baseball, and had coached the North Providence Babe Ruth League and Little League for many years. Most knew him as the most generous of men, who typically arrived with shrimp cocktail and bottles of wine in hand. Family and friends will miss him dearly, especially at social events, which he loved the most.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 – 12 pm in the Anderson-Winfield Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Funeral and burial will be private.
