CHICOPEE ~ Leonard Emerson Eaton, 84, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, January 14, 2019. He passed into Eternal Life at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Ware on January 5, 1935, a beloved son of the late Leonard E. and Gladys C. (Adams) Eaton. He was raised in Shrewsbury, graduated from Shrewsbury High School and had later lived in Worcester and Warren before moving to Chicopee in 2005. He was employed as a mechanic for the former Ma Bell Telephone Company, which later became Verizon. He had also owned and operated his own automotive garage in Brookfield. During his leisure time, Leonard enjoyed listening and dancing to country music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Joan M. (Robbins) Eaton; his loving daughter, Lynn E. Provost and her husband, Raymond, of Chicopee; his loving son, Leonard E. Eaton of Chicopee; his seven cherished grandchildren; his dear sister, Cynthia; Hackett; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Eaton, Hall and Robbins families. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his beloved first wife, Barbara M. (Hall) Eaton who was Called Home on August 22, 1993; his loving daughter, Virginia Darlow who was Called Home on June 1, 2011; his dear brother, Charles Eaton; and his two dear sisters, Roberta Woolard and Sally Eaton. His funeral services and burial will be private at the convenience of his family. There are no visiting hours.
