In Taunton, January 21, 2019, Doris Frances Bartone, passed away peacefully following a period of declining health in Taunton Nursing Home at the age of 94. Doris was born in Portsmouth, NH, the daughter of the late Rudolph & Frances (LaGreca) Bartone. Doris had resided in Taunton, attended Taunton schools and graduated from Boston University. She was employed as a teacher for the City of Taunton, working at Mulcahey School and retiring from Cohannet School. She was employed before her teaching career as a librarian at the Taunton Public Library. Doris enjoyed reading, painting, was a talented musician and artist and cherished her time with family. Doris is survived by her sister Edith Young of Taunton and predeceased by her other sister Thelma Nicholson. She also leaves several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral home visiting hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 9:30-10:30am. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Taunton at 11am. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Taunton. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in Doris’s memory to the Taunton Nursing Home, 350 Norton Ave., Taunton, MA 02780.
