Danny Lee Mitchell, Sr., 53, of Fitzgerald, died January 21, 2019, at Navicent Health in Macon Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 11AM, Friday, January 25, 2019 at Christian Fellowship in Ben Hill County with the Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Mitchell was born December 9, 1965, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late David Carlton Mitchell and Ruth Luke Perry. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to music, and playing the guitar. He spent most of his time with his grandkids and at his shop, Mitchell’s Auto Repair Shop. Mr. Mitchell also loved to grill, shoot pool and his CB radio. He was a member of CFI.
He is survived by his companion, Pearlie Newell of Fitzgerald; children, Danny Lee Mitchell, Jr. & Fiancé Tearra Southern of Cascade, Iowa, John Byrd of Cascade Iowa, David Allen Mitchell of Fitzgerald, Freida Stanford & James of Fitzgerald and Diane Carlson, of Sneads, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Tommy Mitchell of Fitzgerald, and Sheryl Mitchell of Fitzgerald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Denise Holcomb and two brothers, Clayton Mixon, and Donnie Carlton Mitchell.
