Obituary

George W. Blanchard, Jr., 75, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Franklin, Massachusetts and Concord, New Hampshire, died January 18 peacefully at his home. He was the husband of Abigail (Groth) Blanchard for the past 54 years.

Born in Milford, February 27, 1943, the son of the late George W. and Alice (Cunningham) Blanchard, Sr. Mr. Blanchard was raised in Franklin and had lived in Concord, New Hampshire from 1972 until moving to Lakeland in 2005.

A graduate of Franklin High School, Mr. Blanchard been the manager of the State of New Hampshire data entry system for many years before retiring. He had previously worked for the Carter Company in Needham.

George was an avid golfer all his life.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Deborah Bradley and her husband Kenneth of Bow, New Hampshire, George Wesley Blanchard, III and his wife Tashia of Hooksett, New Hampshire and Stephen Blanchard and his wife Lisa of Loudon, New Hampshire.

He was the brother of the late Elton Blanchard.

He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, January 28 in the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com)131 Main Street, Franklin at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Union Street, Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday from 10:30-12:30 p.m.
