In Taunton, January 18, 2019, Thomas L. McDonald Jr. passed away unexpectedly in Morton Hospital at the age of 80. He was the loving husband of Patricia L. (Walsh) McDonald of Taunton. Thomas was born in Boston, the son of the late Thomas L. McDonald Sr. and Rose (Lodi) McDonald. A resident of Taunton for 55 years, Thomas was formerly of Boston. He attended Boston schools and graduated from Boston Latin High School, Boston State College and Bridgewater State University. Thomas served his country while in the U.S. Army National Guard. He was employed as an educator for both the Norton schools and Raynham schools. After his retirement from teaching Thomas worked as a counselor for Catholic Charities in Brockton. Thomas enjoyed golfing, a good political debate, taking long car rides, wintering in Florida and above all cherished the time he spent with family. He is survived by his beloved children; Kathleen Chandler and her husband Kevin of Pembroke, Nancy Milinazzo and her husband James of Pembroke, Thomas C. McDonald and his wife Kristine of Grafton and James McDonald and his wife Vicky of Boca Raton, FL., his grandchildren; Mia and James Milinazzo, Thomas and Samuel McDonald, his siblings; Rosemarie McDonald of Quincy, Teresa O’Donnell of Arundel, ME, Steven McDonald of Kingston and Wayne McDonald of Taunton and also several nieces and nephews. A funeral home service will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780 on Friday, January 25th at 11am. Relatives and friends are also invited to visiting hours on Thursday from 5-7pm. Burial will be at a later date.
