Dennis W. LaCerda passed away on Sunday January, 20th, 2019 at home with his wife Pauline by his side, he was 73 years old.
Dennis was a long time resident of Whitman, MA, formerly of Brockton, MA. He was born on January 25, 1945 in Brockton, MA to the late John A. Sr and Jenny N. LaCerda and had five brothers John A. Jr, Robert E. , David J., Leonard G., and Steven P.. All who he dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with them. Robert E. LaCerda of Virginia and David J. LaCerda of Missouri are the last surviving brothers.
Dennis leaves behind his wife Pauline Gianunzio-LaCerda and their loving four-legged companion Buddy. He also leaves behind his daughter Ann-Marie, son-in-law Michael, and three grandchildren he loved very much.
Dennis was a Vietnam War Veteran, US Army, Artillery. He was involved with the VA and had made many friends there. He also served his community as a Whitman Police Officer for 28 years. Part of that service he was the K-9 Officer and served with his loyal canine partner Ceasar. He was respected by his fellow officers. He was an officer with integrity and treated people with compassion.
Dennis was a member of two antique auto groups, Pacesetters and Wheels of Time. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, friends and other classic car enthusiasts at club meetings and other auto events in the area.
Viewing hours are Thursday January 24th 3PM-7PM and a 10AM service Friday January 25th at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle) Whitman and burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery 483 North Main Street, West Bridgewater, MA
