Virginia A. “Zena” (Mansour) Mahanna, age 82, of Brockton, died unexpectedly, January 18, 2019, at Massachusetts General Hospital. Virginia was the loving wife for 57 years of James M. Mahanna, Jr. Born and raised in Brockton she was a daughter of the late Chickery and Katherine (Hamwey) Mansour. She was a graduate of Brockton High School and received her Associates Degree from Massasoit Community College. Virginia had been a high-performing Sales Manager for Tupperware for many years. She also worked in the Medical Records Department of Goddard Medical Center, eventually retiring as a Receptionist at Dr. Singh’s Office in Stoughton.
Virginia had enormous passion for life and her family. She put her heart and soul into making those around her feel loved. Her energy was endless and her smile contagious. She cherished her trips to the casino and spending Saturday mornings at Back Bay Bagel with her girlfriends. She never missed an opportunity to visit her grand-dogs and bring them cookies.
Virginia was the proud mother of Linda Casey and her husband John of Brockton and Michael Mahanna and his wife Terry of Assonet; adoring grandmother of David Casey, Patrick Casey and his wife Gina, Christopher Casey and his companion Debra Langley and James Casey and his companion Jennifer Carmona all of Brockton; Presley and Italia Mahanna of Hull and great grandmother to the love of her life, Cameron Casey of Brockton. She was the devoted sister of Thomas Mansour and his wife Alice of Raynham, and the late Mary Matook. She had several nieces and nephews all of whom she loved deeply.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday, January 23, 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
