Charlotte Reed Doss, 76, of Tifton passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center, following a lengthy illness. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Brian Allen officiating. Mrs. Doss will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Jed Tanner, Zack Tanner, Sam McGriff, Dan Doss, Mikell Reed and Michael Branch will serve as pallbearers.
Born April 9, 1942 in Crisp County, Mrs. Doss was the daughter of the late H. P. Reed and Charlotte Toney Reed. She was also preceded in death by one son, Harry Lee Doss, Jr.; and two brothers, Toney Reed and Race Reed. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Chula, where she taught children in Sunday School. She was an avid reader and Girl Scout leader.
Mrs. Doss is survived by her husband, Harry Lee Doss, Sr. of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Dianne Doss of Alpharetta; one daughter and son-in-law, Malinda Doss and Chuck Darling of Tifton; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Doss of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Jed Tanner, Zack Tanner and wife Joanna, Sam McGriff, Christina Norton, Sydney Doss, Dan Doss and Jenny Doss; and two great-grandsons, Jared Tanner and Alex Tanner.
