Obituary

Susan Lou (Fitzpatrick) Strittmatter, 62, passed away on Monday, January 14, 2019, at her home in the company of her loved ones, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was raised in Medway, and was a long-time resident of Franklin. Sue spent most of her career as a finance and operations professional at Digital/Compaq/Intel. She retired in 2012 to do what she loved: spending time with her grandchildren and family, volunteering at both the Franklin Food Pantry and the YMCA, taking fitness classes and appreciating nature with her family.

Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 20 years David Strittmatter; two sons Gregory Babbin and his wife Chelsey of Stratham, NH and Jeffrey Babbin and his fiancé Trina Best of Salem, three step daughters Shelley and her husband Mark Wyllie of Bellingham, Julie and her husband David Morrissey of Hopedale, and Amy Strittmatter and her partner Bryan Guidi of Franklin. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren, Annabelle and Matilda Babbin, Collin Hensel, Chloe and Mark Wyllie III, Jocelyn and Daniel Morrissey; as well as eight brothers and sisters including Dale Baker of Bourne, Charles Fitzpatrick of Troy, ME, Nancy Fitzpatrick-Jones of Sandwich, Roy Fitzpatrick of Franklin, Doris DiMillio of Pomfret, CT, Carol Arnold of Northbridge, Gary Fitzpatrick of Plainfield, CT and David Fitzpatrick of Wrentham.

All are welcome to join the family for a Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Franklin, on Thursday 1/24/2019, at 10AM.
Interment will be private.

Arrangements are under the care of Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com)

In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts be made in Susan’s memory to the Dr. Anand Vaidya / Research Fund, Adrenal Cancer Specialist at Brigham & Women’s Hospital.
