Obituary

Howard “Bob” Kling, 68 of Derry, NH died Saturday, December 24, 2005 in his home. Bob was born in Newark, NJ on February 2, 1937. Bob graduated from Irvington High School in Irvington, NJ and later attended college at Rutgers University in New Jersey. He served in the US Army. He was Past Exalted Ruler of the Order of Elks in Irvington. Bob moved to Derry, NH in 1972 where he was employed at Treasure Masters until 1986. He was most recently employed for Future Supply Corp. of Londonderry, NH. Bob served on the Board of Trustees for the Greater Derry Boys & Girls Club. He was a member of the Derry Rotary Club and served as a Selectman for the town of Derry.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Myette) Kling of Derry, two daughters, Debra Simpson of Londonderry, Laura Pittman of Ashland, MA, one son, Howard Kling of Richmond Hill, GA, three stepsons, Eric Battistelli of Auburn, NH, Kevin Battistelli of Manchester, NH, Todd Battistelli of Derry, 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
In his life: Bob also leaves his biological father, Howard Kling of St. Petersburg, FL and his dad who raised him, John Szymankski of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was predeceased by his mother, Ann (Majeski) Szymanski. The family would like to extend a special thank you to those who offered their love, prayers and support during this time. In Bob’s memory, donations may be made to the Salvation Army, a VFW Ladies Auxillary, an American Legion post or to the Rockingham VNA Hospice of Exeter for their support, visitation and gifts offered.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling arrangements.
