Obituary

Charles Cameron Bovey, 59

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

At 59 years of age, Charles Cameron Bovey lost his heroic and silent battle with kidney cancer on January 16, 2019, at home, surrounded by his loving wife of 24 years Pamela J. LeClerc-Bovey, and his devoted children Emma, Cameron and Olivia.

Born and raised in Concord MA, Charles attended The Fenn School and The Holderness School in NH., and graduated from the Business School at Boston University. Charles' professional life extended to the executive management team at Textron Financial Corp in Kansas and Providence RI. He later satisfied his love of cars in the finance department at Manheim Auto Auction in Taunton MA.

Charles developed life-long friendships with everyone and anyone who was lucky enough to cross his path. His love-of-life experiences included his fantastic ability to ski any mountain, deep sea commercial tuna fishing in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, summers on Sears Point in Chatham and family visits to the UK and Europe. His thirst for knowledge turned every moment into a learning or teachable event. But of all his many accomplishments, there were none he was more proud of than his family, as they were the most important aspect of his life. Charles and Pam raised their family in Mansfield MA and have felt the incredible warmth and support of the community during this most difficult time.

Charles leaves his father, Martin Koon Bovey Jr & Elizabeth “Wizzie” of Wayzata MN, sisters Hilary of Concord MA, Elizabeth “Lili” of Woodstock VT and Jennifer Jenny” of Chatham, stepmother Joanne of Savanah GA and numerous nieces & nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Clare Carruthers Bovey of Chatham MA.

Visitation in celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Saturday, February 2nd from 12:00-4:00 P.M. at the Chateau Restaurant, 48 Bay Road in Norton. Charles’ ashes will be spread in Chatham on the Summer Solstice.

Those wishing may remember Charles with a donation in his memory made to Beacon Hospice, 182 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02720.
