Michael D. Silva, passed away at the Somerville Hospital Tuesday January 15th. He was 59.
Born and raised Arlington, Michael was the son of the late Melvin and Carol Ann (Smith) Silva. Michael was a graduate of Arlington High School. He then continued his education by attending College. Shortly after college, Michael joined the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he worked for many years after as a building maintenance manager.
Michael loved spending time with family and friends. But most of all he loved spending his time with his wife Sandra. The two met in 2005 and got married in 2008. The two loved to vacation together, whether it was to sunny Florida or to New Hampshire. If they weren’t vacationing together, he would be home cooking anything and everything. He loved to cook especially Italian food. Not only was he a great cook, he played the guitar. Michael was an avid sports fan of all the Boston sports teams. He enjoyed playing Xbox. Michael was a great, kind and easy going guy who will be deeply missed.
The beloved husband of Sandra Coiro-Silva. He was a devoted father of Craig Silva of Woburn and the late Megan Silva. The loving brother of Ralph Silva of Cranston, RI, Donna Palermo of Salem, NH and the late David Silva, he was a dear Brother in law of Rosa Botelho of Somerville, and Maria Barletta of Stoneham. He was the dear Son in law of Francesca Coiro and her late husband Guiseppe of Somerville and is He also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his loving cat Zackiesha and the late Zackie.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday January 19th at Noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family from 10 AM through 12 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Everett
