WAYLAND: Judith Ann “Judi” (Boschetto) DiCarlo, 74, died peacefully surrounded by her family on January 15, 2019 at the Massachusetts General Hospital following a period of declining health.
She was born in Waltham on August 21, 1944, the daughter of the late Joseph A. Boschetto and Louise M. (Severino) Boschetto.
Judi is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 52 years, Leonard John DiCarlo of Wayland. Beloved mother of Julie Ann Dunagan and her spouse Shelley Dunagan of Byfield; Leonard Joseph DiCarlo and his wife Terri Ann DiCarlo of Wayland and Marisa Lynn Sebastianelli and her husband David Sebastianelli of Wayland. Cherished grandmother of Cooper, Tucker, Leonard Joseph “LJ”, Devin, Alexander, Sofia, Luciano, Giovanni and Venezia. Sister of Josephine “Joan” DiCarlo of Newton, Joseph Boschetto and his wife Kathleen Boschetto of Bedford, NH and Louise Noce and her husband Leonard Noce of Sudbury. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Judi has been a resident of Wayland for over 45 years and spent her formative years in Watertown. She graduated from Rosary Academy in Watertown and received her A.S. in Dental Hygiene from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston. Judi enjoyed volunteering her time and talents in helping others. She was a member of the Woodridge Garden Club and volunteered with WHSPO while her children were growing up in Wayland.
She was an accomplished needle point artist and was a judge for many needle point competitions throughout the country. She was a member of the American Needlepoint Guild; National Academy of Needlearts and the Embroiderers Guild of America.
Judi and her husband Leonard enjoyed traveling and spending time on the Cape with family and friends. For many years, she served as a sponsor for children throughout the world with “Unbound.” She also enjoyed her “Friday Morning Coffee Group” at Mel’s.
Her greatest joy was being there for her family and the countless hours spent with her grandchildren who were the love of her life. Judi will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all the lives that she touched over the years.
Visitations will be held on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral home on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 9:30 AM followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main St (Rte, 27), Wayland.
Interment will follow in the DiCarlo Family Lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
