Aurea (Martinez) Rivera, 56, of New Bedford died June 22, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Eduardo M. Rivera and daughter of Cecilio and Maria (Ortez) Martinez.
Mrs. Rivera was born in Naguabo, Puerto Rico before moving to New Bedford in 1974.
She was a member of the Worship Center in New Bedford.
Mrs. Rivera was formerly employed by P.A.C.E. for several years until her illness.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband; her parents; 2 daughters, Michelle Y. Rivera and Marlene Mendoza, both of New Bedford; a brother, Jose L. Martinez of Jersey City, NJ; a sister, Iris Martinez of Puerto Rico; 6 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, Wednesday, June 26th at 7 PM.
Interment private.
