Elaine (Lainie) Nicholson-Johnson
RANDOLPH - Elaine (Lainie) Nicholson-Johnson (Arnao), was born in Boston on February 14, 1943. She was a resident of Randolph and Quincy. Lainie died at home on January 2, 2019, after living with Metastatic Neuroendocrine Cancer and Lupus since 2009. Lainie was the loving oldest daughter of the late Harry and Cecilia (Dooley) Arnao. She leaves her husband, lover and caregiver Charles (Chuck) Johnson. She leaves her cherished son Brian A. Nicholson and his wife Dorothy (Dottie). She also leaves to mourn her best friend and sister Donna-Marie Burwell and her husband Stan and 2 nieces: Kelli-Ann Burwell, and her significant other John Duquette Jr., and Shannon Marie Donnelly.
Lainie graduated from Randolph High School in 1960. She was still very close to many of her classmates. She earned a BS in Human Services from New Hampshire College and worked as a Supervising Medical Technologist in Hematology at Boston City Hospital in Boston, MA. She also worked at Long Island Hospital in Boston Harbor, MA and Mattapan Chronic Care Hospital in Mattapan, MA. She was certified through AMT and NCA.
Lainie loved being at the beach, reading non-fiction books and traveling (including Cape Cod, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Aruba, the French Riviera, Sicily, Arizona and Mexico). She also enjoyed going to New York City to see Broadway plays and have dinner at Sardi’s with Donna. She loved hosting parties, cooking and watching old black and white movies (428) with Donna and Shannon. Her family and friends were more important to her than words could ever explain.
A Funeral Mass of Celebration will be held at St. Bernadette’s Church, 1031 North Main Street, Randolph, MA on January 16, 2019, at 10:00AM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
