Carlos Leamon Hummel, 87, of Anderson died January 10, 2019 at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield following a brief illness
He was born January 14, 1931 in Allons, Tennessee the son of Carvel C. and Odessa "Dessie" (Dennis) Hummel. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was the owner of Hummel's Barber Shop in Daleville and Anderson and a member of Lake Street Church in Chesterfield. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 408 and the Gold Wing Riders Club. He was a member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge #730.
Carlos is survived by his wife Nila (Hughes) Hummel whom he married October 2, 1954; his daughters, Carla (Mark) Hanson of Spain, Cindy (Kent) Hanson of Grand Rapids, MI and Sheila (Tim) Harris of Conway, AR; and his son, David Hummel of Nashville, TN; brother, James Hummel of Allons, TN, three sisters, Anna Maples of Richmond, Angeline Eversole of Junction City, Kansas, and Genell Jones of Cookville, TN; nine grandchildren, Stephanie (Matthew) Shattuck, Heather (Eric) Maurer, Christin (Luke) Hanson, Carleigh Brizendine, Ben (Kayla) Harris, Cameron Harris, Cory (Regan) Harris, Danielle (Frank) Ficili, and Michael Hummel, several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, his son and daughter-in-law, Carl Christian and Linda Hummel, and 3 brothers.
Masonic Rites followed by a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday.
