Joan M. (Marochino) Dion, age 64, of Raynham, died January 5, 2019 at Morton Hospital. Joan was the loving wife for 32 years of Stephen A. Dion. Born and raised in Brockton, daughter of the late Sabino and Caroline (Ricci) Marochino, Joan was a graduate of Brockton High School, Catholic Medical Center, UNH, and Stonehill College for Nursing and Healthcare Administration. For 19 years, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Tufts Medical Center. She was a volunteer at the food banks and the APCSM assisting with animals in need. She enjoyed reading, biking, antiquing, gardening and shooting guns. She was a supporter of the National Rifle Association (NRA). Time spent laughing with friends and family at gatherings was special to her.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by a brother Robert Marochino, her godchild Michelle Heath and her cousins Marilyn and James Jones, Sharyn McCaughey, Christine Casey and their children Meagen Cory, Dustin Heath, James Jones, Matthew and Danielle McCaughey and Brian and Brendan Casey, a stepson Dana Stein and his wife Kathleen of Taunton and their children Jackson and Jameson. Joan was the sister of the late Elaine F. Marochino.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Friday January 18, 5-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Saturday at 9:30am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
