Dolores (Hardy) Toomey, 75, of New Bedford died Tuesday December 20, 2005 at the New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Phyllis (Contardo) Hardy of New Bedford and the late Arthur Hardy, she lived in New Bedford all her life.
Mrs. Toomey was formerly employed by the Bristol County Sheriff's Department as head secretary until her retirement.
She received a Bachelor's Degree from U Mass Dartmouth, and a Master's Degree from Assumption College.
Survivors include her mother; a son, Neill Hartman and his wife Patricia of New Hampshire; a brother, Arthur Hardy, Jr. and his wife Norma, of New Bedford; a sister Susan Hopkins, of New Bedford; three grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Karen Toomey.
A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
